Background: State-owned enterprises (SOEs) are pivotal to the socio-economic development of any country. However, in most developing countries, these entities failing execute their mandate effectively. have failed be responsive citizens’ needs and deliver public value efficiently because low investment intrapreneurial activities by leadership entities.Aim: This study set out examine effect capabilities (ICs) on organisational performance SOEs.Setting: The population under was SOEs Zimbabwe, located Southern African Development Community, Africa.Methods: used a qualitative research design. Interviews were main data collection technique. Data collected from interviews analysed using thematic network analysis. Document analysis also establish SOEs.Results: established that ICs significant influence SOEs. Organisations with stronger developed greater strategic agility delivered value, terms service delivery, customer satisfaction, financial social impact.Conclusion: provided evidence consequently performance. will assist invest an architecture order both economic value.Contribution: has important implications for practitioners researchers it highlights importance investing superior IC as means addressing challenges faced
